CHEERLEADERS grabed lots of attention in currently running IPL ( Indian Premier League)...
some attention due to very less cloths and some due to fully covered gals in last match at MUMBAI....
now many politicians are having a good time by saying this CHEERLEADERS doesnt fit in our customs..
but as far as i know our customs says that our KINGS use to visit mujras or tamashas...
so i dont feel these CHEERLEADERS doesnt fit our customs...i feel they are very much part of it...lolsss
so what u feel ....
do we need to ban CHEERLEADERS?..
or
let them have a good time dancing and give us good time watching them?..

Cheerleaders are suppose to get the crowd going! So ummm I think they are great! I guess I am used to them since I live in the states and they are everywhere! LOL I used to be a cheerleader!!

Hmmm...I guess it came across as a culture shock for the politicians or the older generation since they are not used to splits, shorts skirts with flying kicks in the air and all. i mean it could possibly shock the nuts of some people. I guess its based on people's mentality and the dance routine.
I guess i am with cinder-single that its well accepted in the U.S and possibly other areas. As for india, i can understand their concerns esp when it comes to being more conversative when it comes to a girl. (ok correct me i am wrong here on india's perception.) So i see why they don't find it really decent girls doing splits and one leg up stunts in short skirts. heh heh heh.

and yes india is conservative bout gals..but when cases like rape or molestation comes up they r not...

lolz... it was hilarious to see the scuffle amongst the government about the issue... and rakhi is just jealous cuz she has competition... taller, fairer, blonder and better looking competition... :)

Cheerleading is a Sport itself. It's huge here in Aus too. And it needs alot of training and fitness.
It's NEW to India, hence the reaction. But I thinl Indians should get over it. Cmon where did Bollywood gyrating movements and Kama Sutra come from!
I had a good discussion abt this in Sourish's blog with another Indian guy who said it's VULGAR. Strange how some ppl label anything Western as 'vulgar'. Wut abt Bollywood movies with extremely sexual dancing etc? Im sure alot of Indians enjoy these movies.
It's high time some Indians get over it and realise that women, sex, lust, beauty etc etc is a big part of life too!

ok, i think everythin is hyped in our country...im tooo confused abt the IPL...the matches r super excitin and a lotta fun...at the same time, the entire over-hyped marketin is irritating and unwanted...
but i still think the spirit of the game is not lost...

lol i saw some cheerleaders on the asian channels yesterday. I was a little taken aback. perhaps they could wear a shalwar?
it's always either black or white. We sumhow tend to give the grey areas a miss. Banning the cheerleaders is ridiculous. But at the same time I wonder why one needs cheerleaders in the 1st place. I mean ok T20 is all about entertainment and it has to have the vibrancy quotient to it but we indians dont need cheerleaders for entertainment we are anyway a noise makin bunch who hoot at the drop of a hat. and come to think of it why not get innovative. why not have bhangra dances instead of cheerleaders. i wud enjoy that way more than watchin skimpily clad women dancing. i mean we women need some entertainment too :)
Cheerleaders thing IS NOT vulgar but it's not necessary either. Most western countries have it, i agree but we can have a variation ya we neednt ape everything that they do.

man, our politicians are hypocrits, yeh ban karo woh ban karo, khud kya karte hain the whole world knows, i dont think cheerleaders shud be banned man, like a lot other abv, i think its high time we accept that our movies wud be vulgar but certainly not cheerleading....n for crying out lous is rakhi sawant the slut shud keep her mouth shut....
I think cheerleading is cool. But like most new things (especially when it comes to good looking ladies in small outfits) I guess it will take awhile for people to get used to it but when they do, am sure they will love it.
